Magistrate Mrs O.A Akamo,on Wednesday, discharged a defendant acussed of stealing kegs of palm oil due to the absence of the plaintiff and the counsel.
It was gathered that the defendant , Olaogun was first arraigned on 9th of September for stealing palm oil and the case was adjourned from September till 2nd of November,2022.
The prosecutor in charge , inspector Evelyn,told the judge not to acquit the defendant, because the complainant might not want the defendant to be acquitted
Magistrate Akamo in her judgement said, since the police have recovered what the defendant stole from the complainant, the court discharges the defendant from the charges against him and also told the defendant that the court can summon him anytime the complainant is ready to reopen the case.
