The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Ogun state chapter has dumped other christian governorship candidates in Ogun state including the People’s Democratic Party and African Democratic Congress ; Ladi Adebutu and Biyi Otegbeye respectively for the incumbent governor , Dapo Abiodun.
Abiodun , a candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the 2023 election for his re election became the consensus candidate of the PFN following the announcement made by the leadership of the body .
PLATFORM TIMES gathered that apart from Adebutu and Otegbeye almost all the governorship candidates in the 13 participating political parties are Christians .
Justifying the decision to throw their weight behind Abiodun ,the Fellowship said God has bestowed special grace and brain on Abiodun.
The PFN SouthWest National Vice President, Archbishop John Osa-Oni gave the directive on Saturday, at the Fellowship’s 2022 Leadership Capacity Building Conference held at the PFN legacy house, Kobape in the state.
The PFN therefore directed its members to re-elect Abiodun in the 2023 general elections for continuity in the state.
Osa-Oni who spoke on the theme: title “The Throne of Grace, Healing of Nations Through the Church” urged members of the fellowship to get their Permanent Voter’ Cards before the election to ensure the governor’s re–election .
He declared “who do you want to vote for? somebody with brain, somebody with grace, prince Dapo Abiodun. I am sure before the election, the governor would have done something for us but we must first vote and I believe you all have your PVCs.
“Grace has spoken for Dapo Abiodun in 2023, we believe before the election, the governor will have done something that will motivate,” he said.
Governor Abiodun in his address, revealed that his success story in the 2019 elections could not be told without mentioning the State Chairman of the PFN, Apostle David Otaru whom he said gave his Spiritual support to ensure the victory.
The governor noted that his victory in that election was by God’s divine grace and favour, boasting that the same grace will earn him a second term in office.
His words:”I am a product of grace, I am a living testament to the awesomeness of the Almighty God. Apostle Otaru supported me to become the governor of this state. He supported me through prayers. He stood by me.
“We all have our individual and collective roles to play in the development of our state, nation and humanity. For us as government we will continue to formulate policies that will bring development to our dear state”
