The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, has charged the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) on entrenching the community policing doctrines in Nigeria.
Baba emphasized that there is need to establish the community policing doctrines especially in urban areas where there is low level of communal existence.
Speaking at the Goodluck Jonathan Peacekeeping Hall, Force Headquarters, Abuja, on Tuesday, the IGP tasked the newly elected officers of the Police Community Relations Committee under the leadership of the Chairman, Mogaji Ibraheem Olaniyan.
Alkali Baba aid in a statement signed by the force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, obtained by PLATFORM TIMES that “The IGP has tasked the newly elected officials of the PCRC on entrenching the community policing doctrine in Nigeria, particularly in urban areas where communal living is almost nonexistent.”
Then IGP who also felicitated with the newly elected Officers said their win in the election was well deserved.
He similarly charged the committee to put it’s best foot forward towards achieving the set objectives
