. . Says It Was A Mistake, Please Temper Justice With Mercy

Adetutu Sobowale

Barely a year after birthing the 5-year-old boy, his mother had tried to get rid of him by dumping him in a canal.” 35-year-old homosexual father, Sikiru Ajibola who raped son to death in Ogijo area of Sagamu local government of Ogun State spoke with PLATFORM TIMES in an exclusive interview.

Acknowledging his untamed act of homosexuality that led to the death of his son, Sikiru disclosed that the boy had been hitherto unwell before his death.

He disclosed that the mother, who was an Hausa woman he met at his place of work, and had an encounter with had “left the boy to die for no just course.”

The vulcanizer cum father explained that his encounter with the boy’s mother was just a fling orchestrated by her.

“The meeting that led to his birth was unprecedented, we had a fling and one thing led to the other.

“She conceived and forced the child on me saying I was responsible for the pregnancy.

“I initially refused knowing that I was not the only one she was having affairs with.

However, I succumbed and later accepted to take the pregnancy due to the intervention of my colleagues at work and my parents who said they would take care of the child.

“I got to meet her parents as a result of this and I did my responsibilities, in my capability as a father, till the day she was delivered of the baby.

“It was until after she had given birth in the hospital that many other suitors, including hausas and Igbo men which she had shared bed with started appearing with claims that the child was theirs.” He said.

“The situation however was put under control by relatives who intervened.

According to Sikiru, the mother didn’t want the boy to be christianed and to also stay at his house.

Hence, she took the boy to a canal where she dumped him to die.

He further disclosed that the timely rescue and joint effort of his parents and some community members saved the child from dying in the canal.

“He was then taken to the hospital where he was treated. Unfortunately, the boy never got better. He seemed to have been infected and developed some disabilities which made him appear unwell, after we had spent so much on him.” Uneducated Sikiru Ajibola revealed, shaking his head in regret.

Remorseful in his countenance, he confided in PLATFORM TIMES that his ungodly act towards the deceased boy remains a misery to him as he just cannot get himself to explain why he did it.

It Was A Mistake, Please Temper Justice With Mercy

Expressing regrets over his action, the suspected homosexual father has said everyone is prone to make mistake.

PLATFORM TIMES recalled that the suspect was arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly raping his five-year-old son to death in the Ogijo area of Sagamu local government of the state.

According to the report, the suspect confessed to engaging in homosexuality and that while he was having sex with the deceased boy, he died.

He quickly dug a shallow grave in a nearby bush, where he hurriedly buried the boy.

Speaking with PLATFORM TIMES exclusively, Ajibola said is yet to identify the force that pushed him to engage in such an evil act, saying it was a mistake.

He said, “you see in this life, we are prone to mistakes. It’s what happened that people would talk about. Before God and man, the child was unwell.

“I was surprised whe I was told I had homosexual with him. How can someone sleep with his own child? The way the community landlord association were saying I had sexual intercourse with my son is surprising to me.

“May God not put flaws in our doings. I have not gotten myself as I am now. There’s nobody above the mistake.

“If one had made a mistake and asked God for forgiveness, surely God will the person as long as he pledges he won’t go back to it again. If he does it again, that means there’s something behind it.”

He, however, pleaded with the government and Nigerians to temper justice with mercy, adding that he will continue to seek forgiveness.

“I learnt lessons. I witnessed many things here. I even learnt lessons from the fellow detainee I met here.

“I am pleading with the government with God to be lenient with me, to temper justice on me, such won’t occur again.

“I will beseech my people if I get my freedom again. I will prostrate and beg them all.” He pleaded
