The chairman of a community in Abeokuta has lamented the poor situation of things resulting to hardship and poor living condition of the people in the community.
The Chairman of Ifelodun Community Development Association (CDA), Oke Saje Abeokuta, Saheed Mayowa has cried out to Ogun State Government to come to their aid in the community.
PLATFORM TIMES gathered this on Wednesday during an interview where the chairman stated all their needs including basic amenities and social facilities like drinkable water, lack of health facility, bad road, town hall amongst others.
He said, “we need drinkable water, good road network, community Hall. We need financial help from government and individuals”.
Mayowa complained about how far the school which their children are going to is to their house, he made it known that even those that are near are about 2 kilometers far from the living vicinities.
He said, “The schools which our children are going are very far especially the secondary schools, even, Saje High school and Baptist Boys High school that are close to our community are almost two kilometers each, at times as a parent, I may not have money to give my children for transport fare, it means that day my children won’t go to school.”
According to him, the Commujity has also started building a school, a block of six classrooms, community Hall but not completed and we are in need of a police post.
He said,”we have started building primary school around our community here, it has six classrooms but it has not been roofed.We are also currently building our community Hall but not yet completed”.
He also sought the attention of the Ogun state government and also said that they should make sure to fulfil all their promises.
“We want government to come to our aid and we also want them to fulfill all the promises which they have made for our community”, he concluded.
