The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration And Control (NAFDAC) has arraigned two men before the Federal High Court Lagos over an alledged importation of fake drugs.
The defendants which are Bena Chinwuba, 47, his company, Vanchris Pharmaceutical Limited and a 30- year-old Duru Chinwike and.one.other are standing trial before Justice Ayokunle Faji on a two -count charge .
PLATFORM TIMES gathered that the importers who are behind the nefarious activity of importation of fake drugs were serial offenders who had been evading arrest.
The defendants and the company pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The defendants counsel, Ikechukwu Anima applied for bail for the accused persons.
The court granted them bail with the sum of N7m each with two sureties and in the like sum.
The judge adjourned the case til March 28 and 29, 2023 for trial.
