Delta State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Isaiah Bozimo has described his selection as one of the 30 most promising Arbitration practitioners in Africa by the African Arbitration Academy(AAA) in 2022 as a recognition that will bring the needed benefits to the Ministry.
Mr. Bozimo , who stated this in his office in Asaba while fielding questions from newsmen, commended the African Arbitration Academy for finding him worthy of the award.
The Attorney-General said that the award was a testament to the work being done in the Ministry of Justice, adding that the Ministry had been discharging its functions effectively in advising the State Government and as well representing the citizens and residents of Delta State.
He said that he would continue to bring his experience and expertise not only in arbitration but all aspects of practice to bare to enable the staff of the Ministry to benefit from it , adding that the Ministry had been adopting courageous approach in delivering its mandates.
Mr. Bozimo said that the Okowa administration had achieved significant progress, especially in the areas of wealth and job creation, stressing that several entrepreneurs had been created under the present administration.
The Attorney-General stated that the Ministry under his watch had carried out several capacity building programmes to equip both legal and non legal staff of the Ministry even as he emphasized that the administrative procedures bill , administration of criminal justice bill and administration of civil justice bill would advance rule of law and other ideas that the Ministry intended to establish.
He further stated that the bills would deepen democratic process between the State Government and the people of the state.
Mr. Bozimo assured that in 2023 the Ministry would consolidate on its effective service delivery and carry out more aggressive capacity building programmes hoping that their successors in 2023 would sustain their legacies.
He said that immediately after assumption of office , he took a critical review to ascertain areas the Ministry needed to improve on in delivering services to its clients which are the State Government and citizens as well as the residents of the state.
Mr. Bozimo hinted that the Ministry identified quite early that in order to be very efficient in discharging their duties there was need for consistent training of staff of the Ministry in order to be abreast with modern trends .
