The Labour Party (LP) has vouched to deliver not less than 65 percent of votes for the party flagbearer, Peter Obi in the coming Presidential election.
This was stated in a press briefing on Thursday at the state campaign office, Abeokuta, where party stakeholders took the front seat.
Speaking on behalf of the party, the acting National Publicity Secretary, Abayomi Arabambi stated that the Labour Party is in one fold and ready to contest in the coming election.
He stated that the party is well poised to contest in for all the offices in the coming election.
He said, “We are going to deliver Obi/Datti come February. Our three Senatorial candidates and house of representatives candidates will go to polls. Let nkbody be deceived, None of our Candidates will step down for anybody.
“We want to contest elections to win, however, win or loose, we will not go to the town with machetes or guns, we are Obidient and not violent. We will congratulate the winners and also expect to be congratulated if we win.
“We are squaring all our 40 Candidates against those of the APP, PDP, NNPP and others. We are ready for all offices open in the election as giving to us by the INEC. We are making it clear that we will deliver at least 65 percent of the Obi/Datti votes.
“In Ogun State today, when you go to polls, you will see strange faces you haven’t seen before, these are the Obidient members.
“We are not banking on the votes of former political office holders. You will be shocked at the result when Obi defeats whosoever stands against him. Be it Bola Ahmed Tinubu or Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, we have tested that with our fitness rally.
“We know what we are doing and we are battle ready. Nigerians have clamoured for change and that has been exemplified. During the INEC’s last voters’ registration, 12 million youths registered within one month. These were docile Nigerians who do not believe in a new Nigeria, but because of our presidential candidate, they came out for the registration and for us, that is an added advantage. He submitted.
