Strong controversies have trailed the whereabouts of the driver of the couple who were murdered and set ablaze on the New Year Day in Abeokuta, simply identified as Lekan.
PLATFORM TIMES exclusively gathered that Lekan was the driver of the wife, Bukola Fatinoye before the incident.
PLATFORM TIMES had exclusively reported that a prime suspect in the gruesome murder of the couple,Kehinde and Bukola Fatinoye and their son, Oreoluwa said he knew and recognised one of the killers of the Fatinoyes .
The prime suspect had caused a stir when he was taken to the River by police where the remains of the son of the couple, who was thrown into the river were recovered from Ogun river.
But, on Friday , five days after the incident, Lekan’s picture was seen on various platforms of social media while being declared wanted .
PLATFORM TIMES however could not confirm if the message emanated from police .
Several attempts to get the reaction from the Police Public Relations Officer in the state ,Abimbola Oyeyemi failed as the PPRO had yet to respond to the message to his phone and did not answer the calls put through to him on Friday .
Meanwhile , the message attacked with Lekan claimed that he was declared wanted by police .
The statement which had the passport photograph, read “this is the guy suspected to have been part of the culprits that murdered a couple in Abeokuta on the New Year’s Eve.
“His name is Lekan . He is currently at large and has been declared wanted by the police .
“Anyone who knows or sees him should contac nearest police state.”
It was learnt that, the killers had trailed the couple to their residence from their church, where they had attended the crossover service to usher in the new year.
The husband, Kehinde Fatinoye was a staff of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), while the wife, Bukola was a staff of the Federal University of Agriculture (FUNNAB), Abeokuta.
The couple who were burnt beyond recognition were on Monday buried amidst tears by sympathisers, family and friends.
