A father of one and commercial motorcyclist , Azeez Sanusi has commited suicide in his rented apartment in Abeokuta ,Ogun state capital, a month after he lost his motorcycle to thieves .
PLATFORM TIMES gathered that the incident occured on Friday on the
Shomefun street, Ijehun -Titun in Abeokuta South Local Government area of Ogun State.
Sanusi whose wife had left was living with his only child was reported to have become jobless after he lost the motorcycle he got on hire purchase .
The deceased was said to have been incapacitated to offset the debt incurred from the hire purchase after losing the motorcycle .
A neighbour was said to have peeped through the window of the deceased room and saw Sanusi dangling body hanged on the ceiling .
The deceased did neither leave any suicide note nor hinted anyone of his plan before he reportedly killed himself in his rented apartment .
The tragic event threw the community into mourning as some residents expresses shock, saying, they saw the deceased a few hours before the incident .
Sanusi was described as a commercial motorcyclist. Who has a child, but libibg without a wife .
The resident who pleaded anonymity said “all we know was that few months ago he lost a motorcycle he purchased on installment because he could not pay up the money as expected.
“He has not been doing anything since he lost the motorcycle, but, it was a surprise when an alarm was raised about his death at about 5pm when we saw him dangling from the ceiling of the house. ”
One of the landlords in the area said the incident had been reported at the Ibara police station.
Some elders were seen meeting on how to perform some traditional rites to appease the gods over the nature of the death .
The State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi could not be reached for his reaction.
