No fewer than 30 victims have been rescued from their abductors after police dispersed the kidnappers in Sardauna Forest of Toto Local Government Area of Nasarwwa state .
PLATFORM TIMES gathered that the
State Command of the Nigerian Police
rescued the victims following an information received that suspected kidnappers were sighted at a forest where they held victims hostage.
Police spokesperson for the state, DSP Ramhan Nansel confirmed the incident, saying the operation was carried in collaboration with other sister agencies.
He said “On 12/1/202 , an information was received and in reaction to the unwholesome development, a joint operation was carried out by operatives of the Command in collaboration with Miyetti Allah Vigilante Group of the Local Government Area.
“The kidnappers were however trailed to their enclave at Sardauna Forest; on sighting the operatives, the criminals dispersed in disarray deep into the forest.”
DSP Namsel said, 30 kidnapped victims comprising 20 males and 10 females were rescued unhurt and taken to the hospital for medical examination and shall be reunited with their family after debriefing.
The police spokesperson said the state Commissioner of Police has ordered continuous combing of the Forest and applauded the courageous efforts of the police operatives and Miyetti Allah Vigilante Group for a job well done.
He further assured members of the public that the operation will be sustained inorder to sanitise the general areas of suspected Criminals.
