Speaker of Ogun state House of Assembly, Olakunle Oluomo, representing Ifo Constituency 1, on the platform of the All Progressives Congress has flagged off his re-election campaign.
The speaker in his re election campaign held on Saturday in Ifo, gave 150 residents and members of the party free health insurance cards.
Oluomo charged members of his constituency to vote APC at all levels.
While giving the residents the health insurance cards, Oluomo explained that the cards are valid for one year, adding that they cover all health expenses throughout the year.
He said “This card covers all your health issues expenses, you don’t need to pay for any health treatment as far as you have this card.”
He added that he would do more if the residents vote him in.
Explaining the usefulness of the health insurance card, the Executive Secretary of the State Health Insurance Agency, Dr Afolabi Dosunmu, who is an official of the health insurance scheme, said it could save expenses worth millions of naira.
He also said that the card could be acquired with twelve thousand naira, for the benefit of those that were not opportuned to benefit from the free health insurance scheme.
Dr Dosunmu said, “I am very happy and excited because Hon Oluomo and the Ifo chair lady have really tried, to be sincere. This card costs twelve thousand naira, and they provided 150 pieces for 150 people for free.
He said, “The importance of this card is much, whoever has this card would receive free treatment for a year. With this card, you can visit the hospital you registered it with, and solve your health problems for free.
“We have given some people that they just hold it without using it, they don’t know it’s use, it can give us treatment that’s more than a million naira.
“We do operation, we treat high blood pressure, Fibroid operation, Appendicitis and many more aliment, we solve them.”
He therefore said if any nurse or doctor refuses to respond to them, the patient should call the number at the back of the card and make complain, as he said the hospital would be warned immediately.
The local government party chairman, Barr Olumide Oduwole, inaugurated the campaign council, as he charged them with the obligation to ensure victory for the Party at all levels, including the March 11, 2023 governorship election.
After the inauguration, the newly appointed Director General Ifo 1 campaign committee constituency, Hon Rasheed Akintoye, appreciated the party chairman, as he pledged to be faithful to the party.
He also promised to work towards the progress of the commitment and the party, to make sure APC wins at all levels.
He therefore urged the party members to get the Permanent Voters Card to be eligible to vote and win in the general election.
He said, “on behalf of my team, the directors, and other head of departments, I assure you that we shall work towards the progress of this committee, we shall work towards the progress of the party, we shall, by the Grace of God, win all the election for APC.”
