The Governorship Candidate of the African Democratic Congress, Barrister Biyi Otegbeye said on Tuesday that his agenda if he emerges the next governor of the state is to fix the state and repair the broken system.
Otegbeye said the current administration has not been honest and transparent in dealing with the citizens of the state .
Otegbeye while addressing newsmen in Abeokuta, explained that the inequalities in the system are huge and have created a massive deformation in human capital development, revealing his plan to eradicate all sort of inequalities.
He said there is a new order of misgovernance and maladministration, stating that there is an obvious attempt to reverse the gains of the democratic evolution as a nation, through schemes at eliminating electoral competition.
He said, ” it is unfortunate that in Ogun State today, not only is there a new order of misgovernance and maladministration, there is a blatant attempt to reverse the gains of our democratic evolution as a nation – through schemes at eliminating electoral competition.
“The fathers of democracy, by their invention, created a market space for contest of ideas and methods, for the people to exercise a free right of choice, therefore, any attempt to grab the people’s mandate by running away from legitimate competition, is nothing but a mockery of democracy”,
“The inequalities in our system today are huge and have created enormous distortions in human capital development, infrastructural expansion and economic growth.
“I want to fix our dear State by creating opportunities for all classes of people and at all times. We want to restore the glory of the Gateway State, enhance the dignity of citizens and establish a culture of collective growth and shared prosperity.
” Our goal is to fix Ogun Sate, the mission is to create opportunities for all and the vehicle to achieving these is called the “Pathway to Prosperity.”
