Former Scotland international Steve Nicol has insisted that Portugal will not win the 2026 FIFA World Cup because of Cristiano Ronaldo.
This is coming following Portugal’s recent UEFA Nations League 3-1 win against Poland.
“If Cristiano Ronaldo is your
starting centre-forward in the World Cup, Portugal will not win it.
“I will guarantee you that,” Nicol said (via ESPN FC).
Ronaldo scored his 906th career goal against Poland.
The Al Nassr forward will be 41 when the 2026 World Cup starts.
