A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and convener of the Egba Agenda 2027, High Chief Mustapha Abdul-Hakeem, has reiterated his commitment to supporting the emergence of an Egba-born governor in Ogun State during the 2027 elections.
Mustapha restated this while addressing journalists in Abeokuta after his induction into the prestigious Abeokuta Club.
The APC stalwart, who hails from Ward 5 in Abeokuta South Local Government Area, emphasized that the Egba Agenda Group remains steadfast in its mission to ensure that the Ogun State Government House is occupied by an Egba indigene in 2027.
Speaking on the relationship between the Abeokuta Club and the Egba Agenda Group, Mustapha described the club as a revered institution that unites Egba elites to foster development and promote the rich cultural heritage of the Egbas.
“The agenda of the Abeokuta Club aligns with the objectives of the Egba Agenda Group, which is to champion the interests of all Egbas, both at home and abroad,” he said.
Mustapha attributed his induction into the Abeokuta Club to his contributions to the development of Egba land.
Founded in Nigeria, the Abeokuta Club is renowned for its membership, which includes notable Egba indigenes from various walks of life.
The induction ceremony drew a gathering of APC faithful, Egba chiefs, family members, and well-wishers, who came to celebrate Chief Mustapha’s recognition.
