Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State has distanced himself from reports linking him to a purported 2027 vice-presidential ambition.

This was as the governor declared that his focus remains serving the people of Katsina State.

A statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, said the governor made the clarification at Dutsin-Ma while speaking at an event organised by the Dutsin-Ma Development Forum on Tuesday.

Addressing the speculation, Radda said, “I’ve seen posters and messages suggesting I’m pursuing another office.

“Let me be clear, I sought your mandate to serve as Governor of Katsina State, and that is my only focus.

“I am not behind any campaign to contest elsewhere. My duty is to fulfill the trust you’ve placed in me.”

It could be recalled that the state assembly had already endorsed Governor Radda for a second term.

The Senators and House of Representatives members from Katsina state also followed suit.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to peace, the governor said, “Security remains our topmost priority. We’re working tirelessly to restore lasting peace to Katsina. We will never make promises we can’t keep, and our decisions will continue to be guided by sincerity and the fear of God.”

Dr. Sabi’u Liadi, Chairman of the Dutsin-Ma Development Forum, praised the governor’s humility and responsiveness, noting that their endorsement was performance-based. “Your presence here today speaks volumes. You chose to come in person, and that shows the kind of leader you are.”

On his part, the Executive Chairman of Dutsin-Ma Local Government, Hon. Kabir Abdussalam Shema, described Governor Radda as compassionate and courageous.

“Without hesitation, we endorse Your Excellency for a second term. We believe in continuity because we have seen tangible results.”

While appreciating the second-term endorsement, Governor Radda said, “If it is the will of Allah and good for the people, it shall be, but if not, I pray for Allah to guide us to something even better.”
