A 32-year-old drug addict, Samson Sikiru, on Sunday, allegedly strangled his mother, a respected prophetess, to death in the Itanrin Axis of Ijebu-Ode in Ogun state.

According to concerned neighbours, Samson had been absent from home for over five years before he  unexpectedly returned  just a month ago.

PLATFORM TIMES  gathered that his mother had repeatedly voiced concerns about his drug addiction to both neighbours and local authorities during his absence.

An anonymous neighbour revealed that Samson, in a state of panic, rushed to the neighbour’s house and claimed that his mother, the prophetess, had suddenly slumped  and passed away.

Alarmed by his distress, the neighbours hurriedly entered the Sikiru’s residence, only to discover the lifeless body of the mother with evident marks of strangulation on her neck and leg.

However, her left hand appeared broken, and bloodstains were visible on Samson’s fingernails.

It was then the neighbours became evident that Samson, under the influence of hard drugs, had allegedly committed the heinous act of murdering his own mother.

The Nigeria Police Force, In response to the horrifying turn of events, apprehended Sikiru without resistance.

He was therefore taken into custody to facilitate further investigations into the incident while the lifeless body of the slain prophetess has been transferred to the morgue.
