    5 charged with assault in Ekiti

    The Ekiti State police command have arraigned five persons at the Chief Magistrate Court in Ado-Ekiti over alleged conspiracy and assault.

    The defendants are Onileowo Kayode (63), Olubunmi Akinyemi (57), Samuel Asoore, (65), Karimu Raji (55) and Tope Amogbon (54).

    The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, said the defendants and others, now at large, on or about April 24 at Odo-Ekiti assaulted one Abass Wada and Israel Wada by causing severe harm to them.

    He said the defendants conducted themselves in a manner likely to cause breach of peace in the society.

    Counsel to the defendants, Barrister J. J. Tijani, urged the court to admit his clients to bail, the request Chief Magistrate Abayomi Adeosun granted in the sum of N200,000 each with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case to July 10, for hearing.
