He appealed that the people vote Abiodun for a second term in office.
The statement reads, “The attention of the Gboyega Nasir Isiaka Media Office has been drawn to a politically induced publication in the early hours of Thursday, March 16, 2023, alleging that our Principal, a foremost Chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress and the Rep-elect for Yewa North/Imeko Afon Federal Constituency, has purportedly directed his followers statewide to vote for the gubernatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress in the forthcoming governorship election.
“We wish to state categorically that GNI is fully committed to the second term agenda of Prince Dapo Abiodun, and has been moving round his federal constituency to canvass support for the re-election of the Governor, as well as the State Assembly candidates under his purview.
“In addition, the political structure of GNI, The Believe Movement, in the past few days have intensified support for the second term bid of Governor Dapo Abiodun through coordinated Door-Door campaigns in various locations, particularly in Abeokuta and Otta metropolis.
“While we know rumours like this are rife during electioneering season, we however warn the masterminds behind this ill-advised hatchet job, that any further attempt to drag GNI’s name into a smear campaign would be met with the full extent of the law.
“We hereby seize this medium to urge members of the public to disregard this fictitious report and stand solidly behind Prince Dapo Abiodun. We are confident that Ogun State would reach the next level of economic prosperity and all-round development in the second term of his administration.”
