A 41-year-old man, Ibrahim Lemo, has been sent to prison by the Badagry Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for assaulting and groping a woman, Zainab Babalola’s breast
.
The victim was reportedly beaten up by Lemo when she confronted him and demanded he stopped the unlawful act.
After pleading guilty to two counts of assault, Chief Magistrate Fadahunsi Adefioye ordered that Lemo be remanded in the Awhajigoh Correctional Centre in Badagry.
According to the prosecutor, ASP. Clément Okuoimose, the defendant committed the offences on April 6, 2023, at the Badagry Roundabout shopping complex.
He stressed that Lemo pressed the breast of the complainant without lawful excuse and hit her left eye, causing her harm after she asked him not to touch her again.
Lemo’s actions contravene Sections 134 and 170 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. The case has been adjourned until April 14 for facts and sentencing.
