A 60-year-old man, Aminu Danmaliki, has denied claims that he married an 11-year-old girl in Kano State.
PLATFORM TIME gathered that the wedding of Danmaliki and the girl had gone viral on social media, eliciting reactions from Nigerians.
PLATFORM TIMES reports that Many had said the girl was forced to marry the 60-year-old man.
However, Danmaliki, in a post on his Facebook account on Wednesday, said his wife is 21 years old and not 11 years.
The man added that his wife was not forced to marry him, stressing that he loves his wife.
He said “My recent marriage Sakina has generated a lot of tension and unfounded allegations that I married an underage girl some suggesting she is 11 years old and that she was forced to marry me. That is untrue.
