The Ogun State government official website, has been hacked by some suspected online hackers who called themselves, Aliester Crowley.

The website was noticed hacked, on Wednesday, three months after PLATFORM TIMES reported how cybercrime has rapidly grown in today’s society.

The report dived into how businesses and individuals have been threatened by cybercrime in Nigeria.

It also cited an incident of how a resident in Ogun state was scammed through online scammers and hackers.

After hacking  the state’s official website, the hackers wrote, “we are Anon Ghost,” under what appears to be the logo of the hackers.

“We are legend, we do not forgive, we do not forget, expect us.

“Hacked by Aliester Crowley. Update your security! Greetings from the Maldives. Find me on YouTube,” they added.

Experts have therefore urged business owners, and individuals to be tech literates to avoid falling prey of cybercrime and fraudsters.

Meanwhile, the government has assured there was no data breach or stolen data from its website.

A statement issued by the state government, states that Hackers had early on Wednesday, attacked the state government website: www.ogunstate.gov.ng.

The statement read further “The website was attacked by a group known as Aleister Crowley.

“The hackers who took over the site wrote: “ANONGHOST.
    “Hacked by Aleister Crowley.
But, the state government, in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, said it is working to restore the website, adding that all critical data and applications are secured.

“The State ICT team is working round the clock to access and restore all the critical services,” the statement added, adding that improving on the cyber security architecture is sacrosanct.”
