In a daring overnight operation, the Kaduna State Police Command has successfully captured a 20-year-old goat thief who specialized in stealing in Pasali Konu, Kagarko Local Government Area.
Revealing details of the arrest, ASP Mansur Hassan, the Command’s spokesperson, disclosed that the suspect, hailing from Igwa village in Kagarko, was apprehended on Saturday, November 11.
The audacious goat rustler armed himself with dangerous weapons and concealed his identity with a facemask, adding an element of intrigue to his nefarious activities.
Hassan shared, “The suspect, who specialized in stealing goats, confessed that they were two that came to the village to steal goats.”
The covert mission took an unexpected turn when the police patrol team intercepted the duo.
A game of cat and mouse ensued, resulting in the arrest of one perpetrator while the other managed a swift escape to an undisclosed location.
“The other suspect who is at large ran to an unknown destination, but we will trail him and arrest him,” assured Hassan, emphasizing the relentless pursuit of justice by the Kaduna Police.
Following preliminary investigations, the captured goat bandit is slated to face charges in court.
This incident underscores the Command’s unwavering commitment to eradicating criminal activities, particularly those with a flair for the unconventional, from the state.
ASP Hassan took the opportunity to rally community support, urging residents to provide timely and useful information.
This collaboration, he emphasized, is crucial for implementing proactive measures to thwart criminal endeavors and ensure the safety and security of the region.
As the goat thief awaits his day in court, the Kaduna State Police Command remains resolute in its mission to rid the state of all forms of criminality, sending a clear message that even under the cover of darkness, justice will prevail.
