Former Arsenal star, Emmanuel Petit has said that this year’s Ballon d’Or would be given to Real Madrid winger, Vinicius Jr.

DAILY POST reports that Petit had in a separate interview said the award was between two players Rodri and Vinicius

This time, the Frenchman appears to have finally made a choice of whom he thinks France Football would hand the gong to.

France Football had on September 4, 2024, released the nominees for the 2024 Ballon d’Or.

The list contains superstars like Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr., Rodri, and Lautaro Martinez.

Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal was also nominated after his stellar displays for the club and the Spanish national team in the 2023-24 season.

Talking about Yamal’s prospects of winning, the former France international declared that he thinks Yamal will win one in the future.

However, the former Barcelona midfielder pucked Vinicius Jr. to win the Ballon d’Or in 2024.

“I think it will be Vinicius. But for the next season, yes.

“He [Lamine Yamal] won the Eurocup with Spain, was one of the best players in the competition, and since he started last season with Barcelona, he has been steadily improving,” Petit said (via FC Barcelona Noticias).
