Police arraign two men for allegedly stealing rail line pandrol clips
The Police on Thursday arraigned Mr Ezekiel Ogunbiyi, 32 and Wasiu Sule, 42, before an Iyaganku Magistrate’s Court, Ibadan, for allegedly stealing pandrol clips worth N220,000.
The duo whose addresses were not provided were charged with conspiracy and stealing, to which they pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Insp Olalekan Adegbite, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on Sept. 14, at about 7:21am, at Bode-Igbo area of Ibadan.
Adegbite said the defendants allegedly stole 44 pandrol clips, property of Nigeria Railway Corporation.
He said the offences contravened Sections 517 and 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mrs Oluwabusayo Osho, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N100,000 each with two reliable sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case until Dec.10 for a hearing.
