Bobrisky vs VeryDarkMan: NSA, DSS should investigate EFCC N15m bribe – Idam

Activist lawyer, Madubuachi Idam, has cautioned the National Security Advisor, NSA, and the Department of State Services, DSS, against dismissing the N15 million bribery allegation by crossdresser, Idris Okuneye aka Bobrisky.

Idam said the NSA and DSS should investigate the allegation that Bobrisky allegedly bribed officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, with N15 million.

Social media influencer, Martins Vincent Otse aka VeryDarkMan made the allegation while releasing an audio of Bobrisky’s conversation with him.

Bobrisky had claimed that the money was aided in dropping his money laundering charges.

The crossdresser also claimed that his godfather ensured that he didn’t spend his six-month sentence in Kirikiri prison.

EFCC had invited Bobrisky and VeryDarkMan as the commission for an investigation into the matter.

In a chat with DAILY POST, Idam said the Chairman of EFCC, Ola Olukoyede cannot investigate the commission.

According to Idam: “The Lagos State Sectional Head of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC and the Officer In Charge of Kirikiri Correctional Center must come clean from the allegation surrounding Bobrisky to regain confidence in the public.

“The controversy involving them and Bobrisky must not be dismissed by the National Security Adviser and the Department of State Security Service.

“These allegations in my view have nothing to do with Bobrisky, after all the audio clip was a fair comment made privately by Bobrisky to a supposed confidant without authorisation to have the same published publicly.

“I will not hold a brief for Bobrisky on the actions to be taken against the friend who decided to make confidential information public. However, I’m glad that the leakage has yet again exposed the corruption in our society.

“No one must pay lip service to this issue. The Chairman of the EFCC is not qualified to investigate himself in this case, or else he will be acting as a judge in his own case which is antithetical to the rules of natural Justice, Equity and Good Conscience. The National Security Adviser and DSS must champion the investigation.”
