Sunshine Stars Technical Adviser, Kennedy Boboye, has blamed the poor state of the pitch at the Kwara State Sports complex for his team’s defeat to Kwara United.
The Owena Waves suffered a 3-0 loss to Kwara United in a matchday seven fixture in Ilorin on Wednesday.
Wasiu Alalade bagged a brace, while Shola Abdulraheem scored the other goal for the home team.
“The pitch was part of the problem that affected our playing; not that we are not used to grass but the bone of contention was that the grass was not cut and badly maintained,”Boboye stated in a post-match interview.
“I don’t know how a pitch like that was approved for games and they failed cut it before the match-day.
“The field is over grown, the ball was not moving smoothly but on the contrary Kwara United were unperturbed as they are used to the turf.”
