    Borno State University gets new VC

    Professor Babagana Gutti has been appointed the new Vice-Chancellor of Borno State University, BOSU, effective October 18, 2024.

    The appointment was announced on Friday by the University’s Registrar and Secretary to Council, Zanna M. Kashim, approval was granted by the Governing Council with the backing of Borno state Governor and Visitor of the University, Professor (Engr.) Babagana Umara Zulum.

    According to the statement, Professor Gutti, previously from the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Maiduguri, will serve a single five-year term.

    “In this role, he will act as the Chief Executive and Chief Accounting Officer, overseeing all aspects of the university’s operations.




    “As Chairman of the Senate and an ex-officio member of the Governing Council, Professor Gutti is responsible for the day-to-day management of human resources, finances, and material resources within the university.

    “He will also be responsible for leading the university’s academic and administrative departments, ensuring the implementation of the university’s strategic plan, mission, and vision”, the statement added.

    The University Registrar congratulated Professor Gutti on behalf of the visitor and the Governing Council.
