The Flying Eagles of Nigeria lost 1-0 to Burkina Faso in their opening fixture at the WAFU B U-20 Championship in Togo.
Fandino Abib Coulibaly scored the winning goal for Burkina Faso four minutes before the hour mark.
The Flying Eagles’ performance was disappointing. For the entire 90 minutes, they failed to create any clear-cut chance.
The defending champions will now need to win their last group game against Cote d’Ivoire to move to the semi-finals.
The encounter will hold at the Stade Municipal next Thursday.
Burkina Faso will next play the Ivorians on Monday in their second Group B match.
