Police dismantle IPOB, ESN camp in Imo

The Imo State Police Command has busted a camp allegedly belonging to the militia arm of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, the Eastern Security Network, ESN.

The command’s anti-kidnapping unit busted the camp in Nempi, Oru West Local Government Area of the state.

Disclosing this, the Police Public Relations Officer, Henry Okoye, said the operation took place on October 19, 2024.

Okoye said 29 suspects were arrested and arms were recovered during the operation.

In a statement, Okoye said a key suspect, Anukuru Nnana Emmanuel, 25, was arrested.



He said: “The dislodgment of this camp is part of the Command’s ongoing efforts to combat violent crimes and restore peace within the state.”
