Bauchi State governor, Bala Mohammed, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Federal Ministry of Health to officially hand over the General Hospital Misau for its upgrade to a Federal Medical Centre.

Speaking at the ceremony held at the Council Chambers in Bauchi Government House on Monday, the governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to partnering with the Federal Ministry of Health to enhance healthcare delivery across the state.

He expressed gratitude to the Minister of Health, Professor Mohammed Ali Pate, commending him as a worthy representative of Bauchi State who has facilitated significant health infrastructure development since taking office.

The governor noted that the upgrade of the General Hospital Misau would significantly aid the state’s efforts in delivering quality healthcare services to the surrounding communities.

He pledged to ensure the facility is utilised effectively to achieve its intended objectives.

“Today marks a milestone for the government and the people of Bauchi State. The signing of this MoU with the Federal Ministry of Health, under the leadership of Professor Ali Pate, is a great accomplishment.

“Bauchi is proud to have such an ambassador in the minister, who continues to represent our state well at the federal level,” Governor Mohammed said.

He further highlighted his administration’s achievements in the health sector, including the renovation of 29 general hospitals, and committed to further improvements for the benefit of the state’s citizens.

Responding, Health Minister Pate commended Governor Bala Mohammed’s investments in healthcare, reiterating the Federal Government’s continued commitment to working with key stakeholders.
