Shooting Stars head coach, Gbenga Ogunbote, has praised his players after Monday night’s hard-fought 1-0 victory over Katsina United.

The win was the Oluyole Warriors first in their last five league outings.

Adam Mustapha scored the winning goal in the 68th minute.

Ogunbote said their opponent were equally determined to win the game but claimed his side’s fighting spirit made the difference on the day.

“It was a good game, the Katsina United players came to play for their coach. It is beyond having a team, but when you have players playing for you, that was what they (Katsina United players) demonstrated,” Ogunbote told the club’s media.

“They gave it their all, but they had another side here that was determined, that no matter the situation, head or tail, we must win and that was the determination from our side.”

Shooting Stars will host Akwa United in their next league game on Sunday.
