The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Obafemi-Owode Local Government, Ogun State, has inaugurated its campaign council ahead of the local government elections slated for November 16, 2024.

Hon. Dele Erisan, a seasoned grassroots politician and former Ogun State House of Assembly member, was appointed as the Director-General of the APC Campaign Council for the local government.

The inauguration ceremony, which took place on October 23, 2024, in Obafemi-Owode township, marked the formal launch of the party’s campaign machinery aimed at securing victory for its candidates in the forthcoming election.

PLATFORM TIMES reports that Erisan will lead a 1,000-member strong council composed of loyal party members from across the local government’s 12 wards and over 300 polling units. His task is to deliver a sweeping victory for the APC at the polls.

The campaign council comprises prominent party figures including Hon. Abiola Asalulola, Hon. Lukmon Sanyaolu, Hon. Nike Osoba, Hon. Fatai Eruobodo, Hon. Otesile, Chief Shina Olowobafu, Hon. Akintonde, and Hon. Sogaolu.

Speaking at the inauguration, Asalulola, who serves as the Chairman of the Media and Publicity Sub-committee, expressed confidence in the team’s ability to lead a robust and well-coordinated election campaign.

“The campaign structure has been approved by the Ogun State APC executive committee, making Obafemi-Owode LGA the first in the state to establish a comprehensive electioneering strategy,” Asalulola noted.

He added that the council’s efforts would focus on ensuring victory for all APC candidates while promoting the party’s agenda for quality leadership at the local government level.

Asalulola emphasized that the campaign would showcase the developmental strides of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration through the ‘Ise Ya’ agenda.

He affirmed that the APC candidates, including the chairmanship hopeful, Hon. Ambassador Ogunsola Lanrewaju Adesina FCPA, and vice-chairmanship candidate Hon. Sobukanla Aboidun Opeoluwa, are committed to delivering impactful governance that would uplift the communities of Obafemi-Owode.

Speaking on his appointment as Director-General of the campaign council, Hon. Dele Erisan expressed his gratitude to the APC leadership for their trust in his ability to lead the party to victory.

He also acknowledged Governor Abiodun’s influence in fostering a political environment where credible and capable leaders are chosen to represent the party.

“This election is a defining moment for our local government, and we are prepared to mobilize every resource and engage in an intensive campaign that will ensure a landslide victory for the APC,” Erisan stated.

He further described the APC candidates as highly intelligent and well-equipped to drive the development of the local government.

The APC campaign council in Obafemi-Owode is set to kick off a vigorous campaign that will cover all wards and polling units, with a focus on engaging residents and promoting the party’s message of progress and continuity under the leadership of Governor Abiodun.

The November 16 election will see APC candidates vying for various positions across Ogun State’s 20 local government areas, with Obafemi-Owode setting the pace for what is expected to be a competitive electoral race.
