Controversial British broadcaster, Piers Morgan has slammed Arsenal following their Premier League 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United on Saturday.
Morgans, who was not impressed with Arsenal’s display against Newcastle, said the Gunners have gone backwards since last season.
According to him, it’s very depressing that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has failed to get a world-class striker and also a proper creative midfielder to replace the injured Martin Odegaard.
Recall that Alexander Isak’s first-time goal gave Newcastle United all three points against Arsenal at James’ Park.
Reacting after the game, Morgan, a die-hard, Arsenal fan, wrote on X:
“Newcastle deserved that win. Better team on the day. Arsenal have gone backwards since last season.
“Arteta’s failure to have proper creative back-up for Odegaard, and inexplicable refusal to buy a proper world-class striker, have come back to haunt us.
Very depressing.”
