Rivers United technical adviser, Finidi George has blamed the loss of concentration for his team’s defeat to Ikorodu City.
The Pride of Rivers were defeated 2-0 at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan on Sunday.
Ayomide Cole and Rivio Ayemwenre scored for Ikorodu City in the game.
The defeat put an end to Rivers United’s unbeaten run in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) this season.
Finidi stated that the team will regroup and work on the lapses identified in the game.
“There were two moments in the game which led to the goals, as they say in football you have to concentrate for the whole duration,” Finidi stated in a post-match interview.
“We will go back and see where we get it wrong.”
Rivers United dropped to second position on the log following the defeat.
They will take on Bayelsa United in their next NPFL game in Port Harcourt.
