NPFL: Plateau United docked three points, fined 4.74m over crowd violence
The Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, has docked Plateau United three points and three goals after their supporters assaulted match officials in Sunday’s home clash against Plateau United.
The NPFL declared that Plateau United failed to provide adequate and effective security during the game.
The Jos club also failed to ensure the proper conduct of their supporters, according to the NPFL.
Plateau Utd will pay a fine of N2m for failing to provide adequate and effective security as well as for throwing objects towards the field of play.
The former champions will further pay N2m for failing to ensure proper conduct of their supporters and misconduct capable of bringing the game to disrepute.
They will pay another fine of N500,000, being compensation of N250,000 each for the assaulted match official (Zakari Aminu) and Rangers player, Daniel Onyia.
They will play their next three home matches behind closed doors at their New Jos Stadium ground .
