A former House of Representatives member, Hon. Jelili Kayode Amusan, has congratulated Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, on the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) victory in the just-concluded local government elections across the state.
In a statement issued by his media office on Monday, Amusan attributed the sweeping success to Governor Abiodun’s commitment to addressing the needs of Ogun residents, particularly through improved healthcare infrastructure in all local government areas.
Amusan noted that the governor’s efforts had strengthened the APC’s connection with the grassroots, earning widespread trust and support.
“The health infrastructure provided by the Governor in all Local Governments across the state is worthy of note, and this has helped the party to emerge as the winner in all local governments,” he said.
The former lawmaker also extended his congratulations to the newly sworn-in executive chairmen, urging them to emulate Governor Abiodun by prioritizing their campaign promises.
According to him, effective governance at the local level is crucial for the success of any political institution.
“Local Government is the nearest government to the people. The success of every political institution is determined by the local government,” Amusan emphasized.
He further called on the public to continue supporting the APC, assuring them that better days lie ahead under the party’s leadership.
The local government elections in Ogun State were held amidst widespread anticipation, with the APC emerging victorious in all 20 local government areas, solidifying its dominance in the state’s political landscape.
