Prominent figures, including former Ogun State Governors Otunba Gbenga Daniel and Senator Ibikunle Amosun, as well as Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Isola, have mourned the passing of Chief (Mrs.) Khadijah Adebisi Edionseri, popularly known as “Cash Madam.” The revered business icon and philanthropist passed away on Sunday at the age of 89.
In his tribute, Otunba Daniel, a former Governor of Ogun State and current Chairman of the Senate Committee on Navy, described Mrs. Edionseri as a “great woman of all seasons.”
He lauded her as an astute businesswoman, loving mother, and a pillar of the community.
“Her name will be written in gold in the annals of Abeokuta’s history,” Daniel said, emphasizing her resilience, warmth, and generosity.
He extended condolences to her family, praying for Allah to grant her eternal rest and the family strength to bear the loss.
Similarly, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, another former Governor of Ogun State, described Mrs. Edionseri as an “impressionable woman of many achievements.”
Celebrating her as a successful business magnate, socialite, and philanthropist, Amosun remarked on her larger-than-life personality, elegance, and open-mindedness.
He noted her invaluable contributions to Egbaland, Ogun State, and the Muslim community as the Iya Suna of Egbaland, Yewaland, and Ogun State.
Amosun prayed for her soul’s peaceful repose and strength for her family and loved ones.
Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Isola, the immediate past Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, also paid glowing tributes to the late businesswoman.
He described her as a forthright and tenacious individual who left an indelible mark on the Muslim, business, and socialite communities. Isola, who is also the Baba Adinni of Ogun State, noted that Mrs. Edionseri’s enduring legacy would be remembered by all who knew her.
He offered prayers for her eternal peace and for her family to find comfort in her impactful life.
Fondly remembered as “Cash Madam,” Mrs. Edionseri was a legendary figure in Ogun State and beyond. Her business acumen, philanthropic gestures, and commitment to community development have left an enduring legacy.
Her funeral rites commenced on Monday, January 6, 2025. She is survived by children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. May her soul rest in peace.
