    TCN Reports Increase In Power Generation To 5,713MW

    The Transmission Company of Nigeria on Tuesday, reported that the increment of the Nation’s power generation hit 5,713.60 megawatts (MW)

    The TCN in a statement, explained that the recent increment in the Nation’s Power generation surpassed the February 14, which was recorded to be 5,543.20 MW.

    The TCN confirmed that the highest power generation in the country was in March 1, 2021 which hit 5,801.60MW.

    TCN says “a new record for the maximum daily energy ever attained in the history of the electricity industry in Nigeria was also set yesterday, with a total of 125,542.06 megawatt-hours (MWh).

    This surpasses the previous record of 125,159.48MWh achieved on February 14, 2025, by 382.58 MWh.”

    However, Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu promised Nigerian that the power generation would rise to 6000MW by last year December.

    TCN however, attributed the failure of the Minister to fulfil his promise to Vandalism gird collapse and power infrastructure.
