The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a man, Sholola Kazeem, for allegedly attacking his wife, Sholola Mutiat, by pouring hot oil on her and stabbing her in the head during a heated argument at their residence in the Ring Road community, Owode Egba Local Government Area.
The incident, which occurred on Saturday, January 18, 2025, was reported to the Owode Egba Police Division by concerned members of the community at about 12:20 pm.
According to the police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, Kazeem carried out the violent act in a fit of rage during a misunderstanding with his wife. Responding swiftly, the Divisional Police Officer led a team to the scene and apprehended the suspect.
Odutola stated, “On January 18, 2025, at approximately 12:20 pm, members of the Ring Road community alerted the police regarding an incident involving Sholola Kazeem, who in an uncontrollable outburst of anger, poured hot oil on his wife and stabbed her in the head.”
She added that the victim was immediately rushed to Ore Ofe Hospital for medical treatment, while police officers secured the crime scene and commenced an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack.
