The Christ Apostolic Grammar School (CAGS), Iperu-Remo, Ogun State, is set to celebrate its 65th anniversary and mega reunion with a week-long series of activities starting Monday, January 20, 2025.
The anniversary programme, organized by the school’s National Executive Central Working Committee, was detailed in a statement signed by the Chairman, Mr. Dayo Akerele, and General Secretary, Prince Gaffar Adesoga Owokalade.
The festivities will commence with an awareness campaign on Monday. Current students and alumni will embark on a procession from Garage to Alaperu Palace and then to the school, accompanied by a LED screen vehicle to promote the anniversary.
PLATFORM TIMES reports that Tuesday will feature an awareness distribution drive and a health talk, alongside free medical examinations for selected individuals.
The statement read that on Wednesday, the focus shifts to sports, with the school hosting its inter-house sports competition and other athletic activities.
It read further that Thursday’s events include a novelty football match between teams of old students and current students, along with exhibitions showcasing creativity and talent.
According to the statement, Friday will see the old students taking over the school assembly, attending Jumat prayers, and participating in prize-giving and gift distribution ceremonies.
The grand finale on Saturday promises to be a highlight, with the recognition of distinguished alumni and the commissioning of several projects, including: a new Apollo Gate, a Health Bay, a School Ambulance, School Buses, a CAGSOSA Executive Bus and the launch of the Alumni website.
The celebrations will conclude on Sunday with a thanksgiving service and the official inauguration of the school chapel, marking a spiritual and symbolic end to the anniversary activities.
The event is expected to draw prominent alumni, students, and stakeholders, showcasing the legacy of Christ Apostolic Grammar School in fostering excellence and community development.
