The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced that Corps Members will begin receiving a monthly allowance of ₦77,000 starting from March 2025.

PLATFORM TIMES reports that the assurance was reaffirmed by the Director General of NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, during an interactive session held at the Wuse and Garki NYSC Zonal Offices in Abuja.

Addressing Corps Members’ concerns over the delayed implementation of the allowance increase, Brigadier General Nafiu assured them of the NYSC’s efficiency in record-keeping and timely payment processes.

He expressed the Federal Government’s commitment to the welfare of Corps Members, emphasizing that the long-awaited increment will be duly implemented.

“From March onwards, your monthly allowance will be Seventy-Seven Thousand Naira,” stated Brigadier General Nafiu.

He commended the dedication of Corps Members and underscored the NYSC’s pivotal role in fostering national unity and promoting core values such as patriotism and teamwork.

Corps Member Zaka Deborah Alheri, speaking on behalf of her colleagues at the Garki Zone, expressed gratitude to the Director General for his steadfast efforts in ensuring the realization of the allowance increment.

She highlighted the positive impact this development will have on Corps Members across the country.

The announcement has been welcomed with enthusiasm among Corps Members, who see it as a significant step towards improving their living conditions during the service year.
