Residents of Ipokia Local Government in Ogun West Senatorial District have praised Senator Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) for his transformative projects in the area, describing them as unprecedented in the region’s history.
The commendation came on Tuesday during the inauguration of 13 developmental projects facilitated by the senator, spanning education, healthcare, and infrastructure.
Among the commissioned projects were an ICT centre at Ikolaje Grammar School, a block of 15 classrooms with furniture at Mayigi High School, Ilase, and the newly constructed Ipokia-Maun-Akerele-Badagry road.
Other completed works include the Ayetoro-Akojaga and Idiroko-Ajegunle township roads, solar-powered healthcare facilities in Agada, and the ultramodern Idosemo town hall.
Speaking at the event, Elder Micheal Fusodu, a leader of the Ogu Peoples Forum, praised Senator Adeola for breaking the cycle of neglect that the region had endured.
“We are witnessing a turning point in our community’s history. For years, we were sidelined in infrastructural development, but today we see massive projects that directly impact our lives,” Fusodu said.
“The Ipokia-Maun road and other projects are a testament to the senator’s commitment to uplifting our people.”
In a similar vein, Hon. Adeniyi Hosu, a former chairman of Ipokia Local Government, commended the senator for his impactful interventions.
“Many have had this opportunity but failed to deliver. Senator Adeola is doing an outstanding job, and his efforts speak for themselves,” Hosu stated.
Residents noted that the commissioned projects address critical needs in the community, particularly in enhancing education, healthcare, and economic connectivity.
