Former Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun marked his 67th birthday in grand style on Saturday, January 25, 2025, with a remarkable celebration at his Ibara Housing Estate residence in Abeokuta.
The event drew family, friends, associates, and well-wishers, along with prominent political figures and loyalists, despite the celebrant’s absence from the gathering.
Among the distinguished attendees were Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Isola, former Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, and a host of political groups and supporters who came together to celebrate the former governor’s special day.
The celebration began with an interfaith prayer session, where Christian and Islamic leaders led prayers for the celebrant. Rev. Julius Ogunseye of the African Church and Imam Bashir Ibrahim of Unity Central Mosque delivered inspiring sermons, urging attendees to maintain faith in God despite life’s challenges.
They praised Amosun for his devotion to God and his selfless love for the people, highlighting his remarkable virtues of kindness, charity, and humanitarianism.
The religious leaders prayed for his long life, good health, and continued success.
True to his philanthropic nature, Amosun used his birthday as an opportunity to spread goodwill to the less privileged in the society.
In a heartfelt gesture, he made significant donations to correctional centers and orphanages across Ogun State.
Inmates at the Abeokuta, Oba, Ilaro, Sagamu, and Ijebu-Ode correctional centers, as well as children from the Borstal Institutions, the Daniel Akintonde School for the Physically Challenged, and the Stella Obasanjo Children’s Home in Abeokuta, all received bags of rice and cash gifts from the former governor.
