In a sweeping enforcement action aimed at cracking down on illegal immigration, the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has identified nearly two million individuals for deportation.
This move, part of President Donald Trump’s stringent immigration policies, underscores his administration’s firm stance on border security and enforcement of immigration laws.
According to a document obtained by Fox News from ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO), as of November 24, 2024, there are 1,445,549 non-citizens with final orders of removal on ICE’s non-detained docket.
Among these, Nigeria ranks prominently with 3,690 citizens slated for deportation, positioning it as the second highest African nation on the list, following closely behind Somalia.
Mexico tops the list with a staggering 252,044 individuals facing deportation, highlighting the scale and scope of ICE’s enforcement efforts across various nationalities.
Ghana follows Nigeria with 3,228 of its citizens also listed for removal.
The US government has emphasized the necessity for cooperation from foreign governments to facilitate the deportation process.
A statement from ICE urges countries to promptly issue travel documents and accept the return of their nationals, stressing that lack of cooperation could lead to diplomatic consequences, including classification as uncooperative.
