The Kano State Police Command has taken decisive action against misconduct within its ranks by dismissing a constabulary officer, Ado Abba, for engaging in unauthorized stop-and-search operations and extorting members of the public.
According to SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, spokesperson for the Command, the dismissal follows numerous complaints received regarding Officer Ado Abba’s conduct.
After thorough investigations, his culpability was confirmed, leading to his official dismissal from the Constabulary.
In a video statement shared on SP Kiyawa’s personal Facebook page, Officer Ado Abba was visibly present alongside SP Kiyawa to ensure public recognition of the disciplinary action taken against him.
“We received several complaints about his actions, and after investigations, his guilt was established.
He is officially dismissed and is no longer part of the Constabulary,” SP Kiyawa emphasized. Furthermore, SP Kiyawa announced the immediate confiscation of Officer Ado Abba’s uniform.
He urged the public to continue reporting any instances of misconduct by police officers, emphasizing the command’s commitment to maintaining integrity and professionalism.
“When you witness any unlawful activity, report it, and we will take decisive action,” SP Kiyawa assured.
SP Kiyawa also commended the dedication of other Constabulary members in upholding peace and order across Kano State, encouraging them to continue performing their duties with honesty and diligence.
