A former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bode George, has criticized the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), labeling it as nothing more than a gathering of mismatched alliances.
Speaking at a press conference held at his Ikoyi residence, George condemned the recent invasion of the party’s secretariat by unruly elements.
He emphasized the need for adherence to internal party regulations, expressing concern over attempts to transform the PDP into what he termed an ‘Agbero’ party driven by personal ambitions.
“As leaders, we must safeguard our party from those seeking to undermine its integrity. The PDP remains the only true national party, governed by established rules,” George asserted.
Highlighting recent disturbances during the Board of Trustees meeting, George raised apprehensions about the potential disruption of future crucial party gatherings.
“It is sacrilegious that thugs were mobilized to disrupt our proceedings. If such actions are tolerated now, what assurances do we have for future critical meetings?” George questioned,
underscoring the need for decisive action against those compromising party unity.
