The Kogi State High Court sitting in Lokoja has pronounced a ruling that strips Alhaji Ahmed Muhammed Tijani Anaje of his position as the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland.
Alhaji Anaje, who ascended to the esteemed throne in January 2024, during the concluding days of former Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello’s tenure, has been directed by Hon. Justice Salisu Umar of High Court 6 to desist from portraying himself as the paramount traditional ruler of Ebiraland.
The ruling, delivered on Monday, followed a legal action initiated by .one Dr. Barnabas Adeku Ojiah and two others against the Governor of Kogi State, with suit number HCO/05C/2024.
Although specific details of the judgment are yet to be disclosed by the court, sources close to the proceedings indicate that the decision marks a pivotal moment in the ongoing controversy surrounding the leadership of Ebiraland.
Efforts to reach Alhaji Anaje or his legal representatives for comments on the court’s decision proved futile as of the time of filing this report.
