The Seriki of Iperu-Remo and former 2023 gubernatorial candidate for Ogun State, Hon. (Dr.) Oladipupo Adebutu, has expressed profound sorrow and extended heartfelt condolences to the royal family, the people of Iperu-Remo, and the entire Remo Kingdom following the death of the revered Alaperu of Iperu-Remo, Oba Adeleke Adelekan Idowu-Basibo.
In a statement released on Thursday, through his media aide, Afolabi Orekoya, Adebutu described the late monarch as a custodian of tradition and a beacon of wisdom.
He praised Oba Idowu-Basibo for his leadership, which was defined by peace, progress, and a deep commitment to the welfare of his people.
Adebutu noted that the late king’s reign had been instrumental in fostering unity and growth within the community, alongside a rejuvenated sense of cultural pride among the Iperu-Remo populace.
According to Adebutu, “Kabiyesi was a father to all, a leader whose presence commanded respect and whose kindness endeared him to many.
His dedication to Iperu-Remo and his relentless pursuit of its development will remain an inspiration for generations to come.”
He went on to highlight the late Oba’s profound impact on the community, both in preserving its traditions and in ensuring its sustainable growth.
The statement further acknowledged the significant emotional impact the monarch’s passing has had on the people of Iperu-Remo, noting that the loss is felt not just by the royal family but across the entire kingdom.
Adebutu expressed hope that the people of Iperu-Remo would draw strength from the lasting legacy of the late monarch’s contributions to the region.
While offering words of comfort, Adebutu prayed for the eternal rest of the late Oba, expressing his sincere wishes for divine solace for the royal family and the people of Iperu-Remo during this difficult time.
“May the Almighty grant Kabiyesi eternal rest and give his family and the people of Iperu-Remo the strength to bear this irreplaceable loss,” Adebutu concluded.
The Alaperu of Iperu-Remo was widely regarded as a distinguished leader whose efforts had been integral to the development of Iperu-Remo, with his legacy continuing to inspire respect and admiration long after his passing.
The community now faces the challenging task of adjusting to the loss of a monarch whose influence had been both far-reaching and enduring.
