    Ex-Ogun NLC Chairman Loses Father At 97, Burial Holds May 16

    A former Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress in Ogun State, Comrade Emmanuel Bankole, has lost his father, Chief Samson Adeyemi Bankole, who passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 97.

    According to a family statement signed by Comrade Bankole, the elder statesman died on Friday, April 11, 2025, at his Lagos residence.

    The late Chief Bankole, described as a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, was widely respected for his community values and enduring legacy of service.

    Funeral arrangements have been announced by the family, beginning with a three-day Service of Songs to be held from Monday, May 12 to Wednesday, May 14, at the Bankole family house on Shitta Street, Dopemu, Agege, Lagos.

    The services will feature various Christian denominations.

    A Christian Wake Keep is scheduled for Thursday, May 15, at the Bankole family compound in Isofin, via Papalanto, Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State, followed by a funeral service at Christ Anglican Church, Isofin, on Friday, May 16, at 12 noon.

    Chief Bankole is survived by children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

    The family has called on friends, associates, and well-wishers to join them in celebrating the life of their beloved patriarch.
